Default Protecting your corvette

My boss and niebors have been bugging me about getting extra protection for my corvette saying that it is going to be a big target WHICH makes me very anxious about leaving for school. Does anyone have any extra ideas on keeping the corevtte safe? Have you tried any special alarms for the garage or GPS trackers? help

If it is not kept in a garage, two "issues" prevail:

1) it will be a target for vandalism and/or theft;

2) if damaged or stolen, no collector car insurance company will pay the claim...because it wasn't stored in a garage.

If it IS kept in a garage, don't worry about it. Your insurance will cover any loss.

You need a hidden kill switch.

That said. LoJack! It will let you know in 15 min. That your car has been separated from the fob by a phone call to your cell, a email, and a text message. And the police can then track it. If I remember correctly about $700.00.

69'....

We all FEEL like you do. But, most of us are more realistic. It's still just a piece of property. That's why we insure them....so when something bad DOES happen, we haven't lost the "value" of that property.

We buy life insurance so that IF we pass away our families will be covered financially. It won't replace us, but the financial aspect is covered.

No difference with a car....

I don't want my 78 to be stolen, but if it was, I'd be able to replace it a lot easier with a collector car policy than with a run of the mill policy.

I'm very glad it's in the garage. Huge weight off my mind...

Just get a LoJack, if you live in the hot spots like Cali, Texas, FL, NY/NJ you'd be crazy not to have one. Use the coupon code "save400" and you save $400 off the original price $699.

Here's some LoJack "classics" recovery stories: http://www.autotheftblog.com/categor.../classic-cars/

Claymore set under front seat, just be careful to unclip red wire before starting. Sorry I couldn't resist just the jarhead in me
Seriously, more likely some jealous fool will hit it with a skateboard before someone rolls up and flatbeds it away.
I haven't taken 1 report of a c-3 being stolen in 22 yrs of law enforcement. A guy had his t-tops stolen from his garage once but someone had to know they were there and must have thought they were valuable.
The old killl switch grounding the coil would suffice.

Kill switch so they cannot drive it away.

Hidden line lock so they cant tow it away without lotsa difficulty.

remote destruct if the first two fail.

Big target?Your stupid neighbour's Honda,Toyota or truck is thousands of times more likely to be stolen than your car,Corvettes are usually not a favorite choice for car thieves, but are subject to vandalism spurred by resentment and jealousy and crackheads rifling through the interior for change and pawnables. There are little things you can do to try to thwart the small time crooks, but if a pro wants it-its gone no matter what you do.

Summitt racing sells all kinds. Depending on which one you buy will decide how you hide it.
