coolant tank

1969 427 coolant reservoir (or whatever). Should the connection to the rad not have a pickup shaft that picks up from the bottom of the reservoir??

If it's the OEM piece, no.

I think it may not be. I have one connection from the rad to the expansion tank body. There is a cap on the tank and not the rad. the only other connection is an overpressure outlet below the rad cap. If this is not correct will it still function?

The OEM piece is a copper 'tube' painted black with an inlet and outlet. It acts as an expansion (surge) tank and NOT a coolant recovery (puke_ tank.

The 427 with A/C is a different tank, Mike above is describing that tank.

No AC on mine, that's the way it was originally purchased. That's not to say tat the correct tank is there now. I'll try to post a pic.
