I'm new to my Corvette and even newer to forums and how to search on them. I'm wondering if there are any good, fair priced places to find parts for a 1979 Corvette? I'm sure there has been a post on here somewhere but I can't seem to search correctly to find anything.
If you are looking for new parts try Sam at full throttle corvettes I live in australia and he is excellent for price and shipping cost .sam@fullthrottlecorvette.com or goggle it
I like to use Ecklers when finding parts they are about 5 % to 10 % less then all other online Corvette and performance shops and I have shopped most of them. Google is your best friend when searching for information. Ask a question in Google Search and then browse what you find then look at most. Ecklers has parts breakdown with diagrams and links to parts. I also like Autozone.com not for their parts pricing but they have some step by step instructions on how to do stuff. I rarely shop retail and look for parts houses when Buying stuff. Some stuff I buy from JCwhitney.com because they have better pricing on interior parts like floor mats and dash mats.
There are other but I like these 2 places because they are less expensive.
I've used all the big online guys over the yrs. mid America, Ecklers, corvettecentral, paragon, corvetteamerica, vb&p. They all seem to have comparable pricing. None have disappointed me, so when I need to order up some stuff, I'll see who has everything in stock. I find myself using corvettecentral quite a bit.
rockauto for chevy stuff, any place else I can find it when I need it, any of the 'site supporting venders' that has anything vette spec'd when they have it in stock .... calling first is a good thing, cuts down on 'backordered', and 'oop's we dont have it, sorry' invoices, which by the way , since I call first very rarely happens
tons of places to get parts. I search every vendor and every site when I need a part. I don't think i've ordered out of the same place twice yet. Not every one sells everything and the prices are all over the place.
Start your search with the forum sponsers and go from there. 99% of the time one of them has what I need at the best price.

Thank you!
Depending on where you live might lend some insight on where to get parts from. Over the years I have purchased from Corvette Central, VB&P, and SpeedDirect for specific C3 parts. For general chevy parts I have purchased from Rock Auto, Summit Racing, Jegs and local speed shops.
I've also read many good reviews about Wilcox corvette parts, however I have not had the chance to order from them as of yet.
For specific Corvette parts I tend to purchase from Corvette Central as they have fantastic service for parts shipping to Canada which includes any brokerage and handling fees. In addition, they have many shipping specials in which shipping is free if a certain amount is spent during the purchase.

Wilcox gets my business whenever possible just because of the support they give us. This forum is also a great place to find parts in the parts for sale section. I have gotten several good deals on things there.

I buy 90% of my parts from Willcox. Great customer service - very fair pricing. Plus they're on the forum constantly helping people even it they bought elsewhere.
Parts that are Corvette-specific should be purchased from one of the Corvette vendors that have already been mentioned. If a Corvette part is the same as that used on other Chevy models, you should compare prices between Rock Auto and C3 vendors to see whose price is best. Sometimes just using the word "Corvette" causes the 'Ka-ching' sound to appear.

Is`nt THAT the truth! A guy at a swap meet wanted $35 for an engine pulley because he said it was off a "Corvette". I passed on it, then found the exact same pulley at another booth 2 rows over for $5!
I've spent a TON of money buying parts for my resto-mod'd '81, most of it went to Willcox, some to Ecklers and a little to EBAY and AMAZON, all with really good results (SO FAR)
I like Willcox for pricing but I sure wish they would furnish tracking numbers for their stuff. it can't be THAT difficult to do.
