Default Air Conditioning

Has anyone ever converted their old R-12 system over to another system? Be interested to hear any ideas...

I have not. A friend did this to his 76. He changed out a compressor and a few other parts. He said the air was nice and cold. My 72 came with factory air yet Ill be installing a vintage air system. I putting in all new parts anyway, just makes sense to use a system designed for 134a.
I'm still using r12 in my 92, the air in that thing could chill beer.

I had a local AC shop (Southern California) do my system to a new lightweight Sanden unit and R134. They did a GREAT job. Works great too and engine drag is almost zero...
Huge improvement

I switched my 73 over to a new system.
Big pain to do but well worth it if you need to replace your current system.
My install and learning info.
