Driver restoration question
So I have a 69 427/400 all original documented car conv with both tops. BUT, that being said I want a driver not a trailer queen. Looking at early parts for kicks and I was curious. The tri-power air cleaner and NOS valve cleaner. I have mine but they are rusted as you can imagine. For a driver would you rechrome? Buy repop parts? Or splurge crazy money for NOS? I notice there are big difference in every part you look at...

For that particular part (and possibly some others), you could consider re-chroming as an "investment". An NOS original & unmodified air cleaner lid would be most preferable; but an original part that has been rechromed well would still have good value.
Call a few chrome shops to get a price for re-chroming the lid. If that cost is equal to or less than the cost of a new "repo" lid, have it rechromed.
