Default any ideas on this problem??

putting the final touches on my 68' BB coupe....all electrical and vacuum was finished and working great...put new carpet in and installed the center console etc. NOW for some reason my turn signals don't work at all! tried new flashers, notta, hazard flashers and horn still work fine, but nothing when i use turn signal (no lighted arrows on dash or anything) seems really odd to me...turn signal lever still feels right (click up and down) and this is brand new turn signal switch assembly....any ideas on how to trace this down??? thanks guys, Rick

I am sure you changed the fuse, change it again. And just because a part is new dosen't mean it is good.

When I did my interior, same thing happened to me...
I had a gauge light shorting to ground that caused it.....

the trim piece covering the lower steering column has a screw that goes up toward the column. if that screw is too long it can disable the turn signals. try removing it and see if the turn signals work.

Risk, do you have anything plugged into the IGN spade in the center of the fuse box? The power window tap is right above it. I have my HEI distributor plugged in there and it blew the fuse next to it, two weeks ago. That fuse is for the turn signals and backup lights only ( that I know of). Also the connector on the turn signal flasher can back out and you will not have the signals flash. Hope this helps. Lou.

The turn signals use a different flasher switch than the hazards. Its next to the ashtray under the center console on a '68. Maybe when you put the console together, you accidently unplugged it? I think some of the later (or is it earliest) ones, it is behind the passenger dash pad.

Well, just to follow up...i changed the fuse (even though it looked fine) and now i have turn signals again. i have heard that the turn signals use a different flasher than the hazzards,(mine is located behind RH dash panel) but was unable to find one, and i have the same flasher in both locations...a #552 i believe....what flasher should i have for the turn signals? thanks everyone for the input..Rick

I have a 68 and the one switch is at the fuse panel, the other under the ashtray. Both are 552.
