I have a '77 with an L-82, the Engine is painted Blue from the Factory. I want to repaint it. I been on Por-15, Corvette Central and Summit Racing Web Site and no one has Chevy Blue for a '77. I was able to find Chevy Blue but its for a 1951-1962..... Can anyone help...
For a more durable finish, I recommend going to a Napa or equivelant automotive paint store. We use single stage urithane enamal paints. The finish is much smoother and much harder paint. 1 pt would do your engine easily. The catylized paint will set up so much better than rattle can.

I got it for my 78 from Eastwood in quart. Air brushed the engine but took the cap to a Mecum Auction and matched it to a low mile L48 Pace Car and it matched up pretty close. Close enough that if you didn't have the engine next to it...you couldn't tell the difference. Well, I admit I put the paint on heavier than factory but color was right!
Rustoleum from Auto Zone. It looks a little dark here but I am sure that the original paint faded fast. When I first repainted my '77 L82 I found some protected areas of the paint that were much darker than the exposed areas. mike...
