At the car show, a volunteer captain came around talking about the 2014 Corvette Caravan to Bowling Green. Is anyone planning on going? Can anyone that went on the last one share your experience?
I'm thinking about it, but feel like I got to get the '79 road ready for that long of a drive.
I went with the Southern California crew in 2003 and the Northern California guys in 2009. I'll be back next year for the 20th, but plan to travel with the Western Canada group so as to see parts of your wonderful country that I've not been to before.
It's a great trip, whatever group you choose to travel with, and I heartily recommend it. Introduce yourself at Bowling Green and I'll buy the first beers.
I went on the NC SC VA caravan in 09 out of 200 plus cars my car a 71 and six other old cars were the only C-3 and below cars in the caravan. They put the old cars in the front of the caravan so they would not have a problem keeping up. For most of the trip I did not get over 55mph until I stooped for a bathroom break then I fell in near the back and had to run up to 90mph to keep up. We were stretched out for five miles on I-40 and police stooped traffic in the towns that we entered when we came off the interstate. It was fun but very different from normal driving and it was reported their was a 1000 car caravan that came out of Ohio.

Good to know . Slinky effect in action. I've got a stock radiator and internals. With the A/C running, it gets into the upper temperature range running over 65mph.
