I towed this over 200 miles and rolled it into my garage without starting it. I started taking it apart the next day and removed every bolt, nut, screw and body.
You might as well do it this way as it is something you will wind up doing anyway. Good luck

Some great stories and good advice, thanks for all the input. My favorite being "buy a case of beer and invite your car friends over" Haha sounds like a great plan. I'll be looking for some down here in South TX. I will be sure to post my projects as they come up for advice. Thanks again!
I was raised in a family of mechanics, Uncle owned auto repair shop and Dunlop tire dealer, my father was a truck driver and diesel mechanic, grandfather was a mechanic, and I worked with all of them since I was 12 years old (1980). My best friends older brother owned an autobody shop so I worked with him on and off from when I was 14 to 24 years old. Plus, I've always worked on all my own cars. I have stripped 2 cars down to metal and repainted them, one was an 86' Monte Carlo SS I did for myself in black Glasurit paint and an 87' Conquest TSI I did for my father in red Glasurit paint. I wish I had the time and money, because I really want to do my vette up with a nice paint job! Also, my younger Brother is a really good mechanic and helps me out a lot, especially with the newer cars.
I bought a bunch of beer and invited all of the car guys i knew over for a "beer" and then asked if they knew how to fix things. next thing i knew i had the motor out and it was sitting in my floor!! It was easy from there.... the first step is always the worst. It is not brain surgery...
I started out riding dirt bikes. Not being able to pay someone else to fix it or trick it out. I would by a manual and fix it myself or it would never run again. The cars I've owned, were point A-B cars, not worth paying someone else to fix. I've done motorcycle transmissions and clutches, but never a car that's automatic.
