Default Beater Vette Builders

This is for oldgto (and so we don't hijack the hauling thread).

oldgto, you've gotten a lot further in 12 months than I have.

Here is mine close to the time I bought it, last June, but a touch after I started working on it.

And a couple months ago.

Cool-show some more pics and details of your headlight set up,I'm toying with the same type of idea but can't spend the big bucks for a legit L88 road race repro.

Single stage acrylic urethane, with a urethane clear over that. Painted twice and got orange peel, so we laid clear over it the third time, sanded & buffed it out.
(Wife says she`s SICK of wet sanding, but the picture indicates otherwise!)

Is this good enough to be included as a beater restoration?

I bought the Vintage Exotics kit. Jim is *GREAT* to work with. A touch on the pricey side but worth it IMO.

Here's some pics during the install. I did have to trim for the buckets to fit in my vette but I think that's due to the whole front end being rebuilt.

Arrival:

First and second one in after trimming:

What I trimmed:

And a full frontal headlight pr0n shot before the covers:

A few things went into this (and why I like VE so much).

1. I was able to email Jim and get quick response when I didn't understand how something went together
2. I busted my first covers by drilling with too much pressure, Jim was johnny on the spot about getting new ones to me
3. The hardware included in this kit is top notch

With all that said and since I went with the Hella projector setup instead of the full size, I opted to create flat(ER) covers. I did have to put a small bubble to clear part of the bucket.
