I have a 71 that I just got the trailing arms back this week from Bairs and the rotor has the rivets installed in it and so I can't take off the rotor to intsall the emergency brake cable. It doesn'r seem to have enough slack in it to pull that far to get it into the bent over slot that it fits in and then get it into the hole that is on the trailing arm. Do I have to drill out the rotor revits to do this or should I be able to get enough slack from the cable. Also I thought I was supposed to bend the tang back over that holds the brake cabel once it is put on. I cant imagine that they would have riveted the rotor on knowing I would have to take it off once I tried to install the trailing arm.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thank you

No, do not drill out rivets. Make sure you loosen the cable adjustment nuts located near frame crossmember. This will give you plenty of slack to make the connection at trailing arm.
Your responce was very heplful and saved me a lot of time. I can't beleive no one but you gave advise but if it had not been for you telling me what to do I would have been up a creek. Thank you very much and I hope I can return the favor sometime.

This has been my first trailing arm removal and install and I have found that even reading everything available plus watching a You tube video many times there's nothing like doing the job first hand. I was saved by the info of loosening the emergency brake cable at the frame cross member. Thanks to those willing to help.
