my 74 came with an aftermarket radio, that had fell victim to the leaky windshield. so I bought a radio that I was told was the original type. it came with the convector. but the convector and the radio have the exact same plugs on them. not a male female so they can plug together but the same plug like 2 females. can someone tell me if I have mismatched parts or is there something else that they should both plug into. any help is appreciated. thanks , tony
When I replaced my 1977 AM FM Radio system in my Vette I could not find a kit that matched and ended up cutting into my old harness with Buttend connectors and soldering each wire for strength before I installed the Buttend Connectors. I kept the original connector and AM/FM radio for nostalgia sake.
Installed a RetroSound Classic system into my 1977 because my stock AM/FM radio was shot when I bought my 1977 this year. Could not hold a radio station anymore. The Classic system had RCA jacks for 2 AMPs then also MP3 and USB sticks than I also installed an AMP Bass Speaker and 2 6x9 Speakers in Enclosures in the cubby behind my seats. Was very happy still have room to store my T-Tops after the stereo system upgrade.
revi, yes that is the radio that I bought. you cant tell from the photos but the plugs are the same. I need to know if there is something missing or if I have the wrong parts. thanks, tony
