How to remove spindle flange
I need to replace a rear spindle flange on my 75. Can I just remove that big nut and use a claw type puller?

Remove the cotter pin and nut, I think I'd be in favor of using a balancer puller- bolt it on to the flange and pull. Way less chance of it slipping off. Even better would be to use a bearing puller- the 2 big plates that have some HD bolts down each side, then bolt the puller to that.

Just remove the nut and pull with your hand. It is not a press fit.

If it is stuck, tap on it and it should slide right off.

Mine must have been special. I tried tapping, then beating, then the puller. Then they came off. Just stuck I guess.

Just rebuilt both sides on my 75. Removed cotter pin and nut and slid them off.

If you are replacing your wheel bearings the kit I bought included a new nut and cotter pin with the bearings, race and seals.
