I am a new forum member and I have no ability to restore a car, but i don have some questions that perhaps members here can help me with regarding two cars in the family.
First, a 1967 corvette convertible with matching numbers and a 327 4 speed is owned by my dad and it needs some work done to it. I have been thinking of buying it from him if we can come up with a price. I drove this car to high school a little on special occasions. My dad has had the car since 69 and is low miles 32K. it needs to be painted and a little body work I think. any thoughts on value? it has a hard and soft top.
Next, my dad is in the process of having his 71 LS-6 vette restored. It was special ordered by my uncle, who has passed away and my dad inherited it. I don't know if this car has been registered to what I saw was a registry. Anyone know how to find out about this. I have a copy of the window sticker. I'm not sure of the mileage, but it is one of 188 made with M22 rock cursher trans, 411 axle, steel cities gray, ttops(i think) black interior. I also am wondering if any of these have sold lately and what the prices were for those that did sell. I'm helping my dad out a little as he navigates the selling process for what I understand is a bit of a rare car.
Hi G89,
Welcome!
It sounds like you have 2 pretty interesting and potentially valuable cars in your family.
I think a good idea would be to discuss these 2 cars with a knowledgable Corvette person, (probably 2 different people because the car's are quite different), to determine just what they are, and what their value might be.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
SCG LS-6 '71.
I will not use the word I'm thinkin' but it rhymes with Hick.
Just kidding! Follow Alan71's advice. Those are and could be some very special cars.

i will recommend that he join. I hope you don't think I'm a little kid, but rather a 45 year old just looking for some advice to pass along to my dad from what appears to be a very informed online community. I will ask him to join.
Hi g89,
You caused a stir because the cars you mention both hit the HOT BUTTON for many people.
A 67 with only 32 thousand miles, AND, a 71 with the LS-6 option.
Sometimes these cars turn out to be a car with 132 thousand miles, and a car with an LS-5 engine, but a LS-6 console data plate.
So people are wary!
Descriptions and pictures will get people's blood flowing!
Regards,
Alan
they are both as i have stated. They are legitimate. the LS 6 is one of the 188 made. My uncle bought it new and i have the sheet from the dealer listing all of the options and showing the LS 6 designation. I will see if my dad has pics to send. I was just hoping for general info, but it may not be possible. Thanks anyway for your reply.
If you (or your dad) have a real LS6 with an M22, expect to start receiving Emails soon. The hunters will be coming out of the woodwork! Value? Depends how original and condition, but you're talking probably at least $100k. Top flight examples have sold for twice that at auction. The one-family ownership would make it particularly interesting. Collectors are dumping money into the very rare big motor muscle like this, so the sky is really the limit right now...
Thanks to all. I should mention that these cars in Indiana. The 71 is going through a frame off restoration. The fiberglass body needs to be reprinted to steel cities grey. Any recommendations for the body/ paint? The frame and engine are done and ready to go
