It was one of those days at work today.
Seeing first hand just how bad some people treat their fellow man, how bad some people have it and just how screwed up our society has become.
I climb into my truck, start for home and sit in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour.
When I finally get home, I open the garage door and see my 73 sitting in the garage under the cover.
I think, screw it, I'm just going to sell it and be done with it.
Then I think "****" I can't, I just ordered the SST auto to TKO-600 conversion kit from SST "****, ****".
As I walk past, I pat the old girl on the rear fender and I'm a little better.
Then the kitchen door into the garage opens and my 11 month old Doberman, Max, blasts out to greet me with his squeaking ball in his mouth ready to play. That sucker is ear splitting loud.
Ok, that helps my mood, some more.
Then I get a text from my wife.
I'm at the hospital.
Congratulations, you are a Grandpa.
Tony, Life is wonderful.
Look at all the wonderful things around you.
Find something beautiful that is right in front of your face and build on the good simple little things all around you.
You've done this before, you can do it again.
Remember you have friends and people who care about you all around the globe.
How many people can say that?
Greg

Derek....I'm still kicking, but the PTSD is kicking harder. The V.A. has changed my meds and adjusting the dosage. I actually went to the garage and patted the Vette on the rear (deck).
Alabama just squashed LSU.

WHEN my mind is clear enough to work on the car I'll post some pics for ya!

If nothing else, throw a lawn chair in the garage and just visit with it for a few minutes every now and then.

That sounds like a good idea to me. I've had a hard time getting back into regularly working on my car, I think I'm going to give that a try next time I get stalled again.

Woah! I spent the week reading this amazing thread from the beginning in my spare time. DG, you have had some crazy life happenings throughout this project but it's amazing to see how far you've come from the beginning. It makes for a pretty epic read from front to back and it's hard to believe that you've been at it for so many years. You are an inspiration and have motivated me to do some of the finer work on mine.

My baby ('74) is in the shop right now. I did all the engine work 'myself' (with heavy guidance from my more mechanically inclined friends) but wanted a professional to give it a once over to fix all the other things that I have no clue how to do. I cant wait to get it back eventually.... lol.

I know this is a tough time of year for you so know that we are all pulling for you, even those of us who are just following along for the ride. It's rough this time of year for so many people. My mom passed away from cancer this year and the family is having a memorial in Virginia all Thanksgiving week.... gonna be an interesting trip. Hang in there DG. Stay safe and sane.

Thanks Derek.....the PTSD has been so bad/going to the unattached garage is a major effort.

Thanks Auggie. I'm sorry about your mom......I hear Heaven is a great place. Next Saturday will be the yearly Memorial for my son who was killed by an Illegal Immigrant.

Thanks to you members who check up on me.

Glad to see your response at a time like this. When you are silent I wonder how you are doing.

Some threads are about cam timing. Some about ride height. Some are about life with an occasional spritz of Corvette thrown in. Pretty sure I am not the only one happy to see you posting here, Tony.
