Doorgunner's '68 Convertible Project

OCB.....GOOD CALL...I took pics of my Southern Engine-eering Centerline set-up. Using the length of the car to get the nose centerline....my 1st attempt ar making a centerline ended up being 3/8" off compared to the string running from the firewall.
You can't see the centerline on the rear spoiler, but one is there also.
I have a 2nd centerline near the gas fill lid area..
A 3rd centerline on the hardtop near the windshield.
A 4th centerline on the DIY fan shroud.
A 5th centerline on the center of the hood surround.
THE STRING ISN'T TOUCHING THE HARDTOP/CAMERA OPTICAL ILLUSION.
All the centerlines above were right on when I used a plumb bob…except for the nose centerline.
NOW...to recenter the radiator support and rebolt the fender supports to it.

So out came the support...cut 3" oof the bottom width and welded it back together. T radiator slid into it.
CURSES ON THE BRAIN TRAUMA AND PTSD!
I'M BACK IN BUSINESS AGAIN. IT'S UGLY BUT STOUT.

I'm going to the garage now to center the radiator support and bolt it to the crossmember.
Tnen I will lift the fender into place and test fit it.

The fender support is now firmly mounted to the side of the radiator support.
THIS TIME THE REPAIR IS "FOR REAL"...ALL PROBLEMS ARE NOW CORRECTED.
The height of the fender arch dropped down to where it was before this trvesty started!!
The tire is now centered in the wheel well and after tighteneing all mounting bolts--it stayed centered !!!
This took 8 hrs. to do it right and repair my mistakes, but the fender is in the correct location.
Next... to fit the end of the rear edge of the fender to the contour of the door which will take more fiberglass work to close the door/fender gap.

TRY again tomorrow!
