Default 1969 rear sway?

I have a 69 sb. pretty sure im looking for the 7/16" dia rear sway or
9/16".
I have a chance to buy one that look exactly right, but the description claims it's for a 75 to 82 vette?
Can anyone confirm the rear sways were basically the same from -69 to 82?

A 69 small block shouldn't have a rear sway bar. Only big blocks received the rear sway bar.

All the rear bars were basically the same and install the same way.

Revi: if you ordered the option F41 suspension package with your small block, you got the rear bar.

Besides having two different diameter bars ,
Is the rear sway the same for 69 to 82 vette?
Or was there some kind of design change in 74 ish?

the listings show 68 to 74 for the factory style bar but what happened in 75 I cannt tell you. The links are the same from 68 to 82. Are you sure what you are looking at is a factory style bar and not aftermarket?

Thanks!
My problem is I have a short amount of time to buy this sway. It's half price of what most want but I'm concerned there was find sort of bad change in 75?
Maybe length? Did the frame change around that time?

Hi,
This is a later 7/16" sway-bar mounted on my 71.
There weren't any problems installing it.
Regards,
Alan

As far as I know, the '75's didn't have a rear sway bar but they offered a front code FE7 bar that was 1-1/8" in diamater. I have one and it is very effective.

Found this info:
Does this mean the frame was widened 2" and the sway from 75 on would be 2" too long?

'63 to '72 frames remained essentially the same, with minor variations for additional brackets, holes, reinforcements, body mount changes, etc.

'74 chassis were modified with an additional bracket & extension for the rear impact-absorbing bumber.

'75 was again modified with about a 2" wider rear crossmember.

Only the diameter of the bar and the name of the package. Early it's F41; later it's FE7.

No, only the last foot of the frame was widened to mount the bumper shocks. Has no effect on the sway bar. All rear sway bars 75-up were 7/16.

Hi c69,
My understanding is that in the early years the bb cars used a 9/16" sway bar. Cars with the F-41 option used the 9/16" bar too.
Later years, (after the demise of the bb?), used the 7/16" sway bar.
Regards,
Alan

That looks like a real nice deal.

Not mine, but found this one on CL also. Good luck.
