Default Massive favour required!!!

Hi Guys
Just received delivery of my 77 vette from the states.. bought on ebay.. unseen!! I am an Englishman living in Dubai.. not too many old vettes around ( only ever seen 1 other ) Really looking forward to sorting it out... It needs a fair number of parts, all to be imported from the States... none too heavy.. mainly bushes and cosmetic items.. Problem is shipping costs. I have an address in NY which automatically couriers to Dubai.. but they do not consolidate orders so I have to pay minimum of $20 even for a gasket. Some suppliers will not ship here and some use the most expensive shipping rates.. and again, often do not combine orders.... So... what I need is someone who will accept delivery of my parts and put them in a box and send them USPS to Dubai .. USPS do a very reasonable rate for a box up to 20lbs... and I'm not in a desperate hurry. I'd obviously pay for the items in advance and also shipping costs to you in advance... plus anything you want to pay for your time and trouble... I know it's a big ask.... can anyone help?
What a car!!!!! you have such great toys in the States ( I already have a 76 eldorado convertible ... love it.. )
thanks for reading
Keith

Well there is no request to send him any money or mention of a $million that he inherited from a dead uncle that he'd like to share with us..... I'm guessing this is legit.

At least this is a new one (for me); I've not seen an offer to pay for Corvette parts in advance in one of these before.

I'm assuming the parts themselves will be hand-delivered by a Nigerian Princess?

So if you have a large order with many parts from a single vendor that is shipped in a single box, your NY address should be able to forward it to you, right?

You need to use a 3rd party pic posting site like Photobucket.com. Load your pics there, then post a link from the pic in here

That's right... but its a very expensive way to do it as they ship it via courier and it comes within about 5 days.... and most things I'm not in that much of a hurry for... It's about $40 a kilo and $20 for each half kilo..
I've just had some seatbelts delivered to NY and am waiting ( in dread ) for the bill from the courier..

Ah patience Grasshoppa.

First off, people here just like to raz a bit. It's all fun.
Second, you're a new member, so no one knows you yet.
Third, We all get at least twice a day scam emails from some body in a foreign country wanting us to help them and they'll send us a $million just for helping them. Not saying you're doing this, just that your initial post is reminicent of these emails.

There are many members here around the world. We understand shipping parts and communication can be tough. There are good people here and if you are legit, some one may be able to help.

If you'd like to send me a list to Willcox@Willcoxcorvette.com of the items you are interested in, we'd be more than happy to send it however you please.

I think Mr. Willcox says it best. most of the forum supporting venders and even non forum venders not only give shipping weight but also two and three versions of shipping rates and with an email or call will ship ...however wanted, some even trans ship. Willcox ROCKS.
btw...favour? ethiopia bad spelling? . favor...you can bounce an ip address. if I was smart enough to work in dubai, I could figure out how to post pictures

Good call!! I'll need to set my spell checker to US!! Willcox are top of my list of suppliers so that may be a way to go. I'll start a new thread with photos of the progress when I manage to get my head around photobucket. I've already got lots of things I need advice on... ( is that how "you" spell advice??!!! )
