I would be interested if the price is right. I thought there might be a DIY solution with one of the motor driven cables some car use for windows.
As for simplicity. That's easy. Sometimes I don't want to get out at a light to close my top.

Everything doesn't need to be "automatic" or "electronic"....
But, if that's what you want, find a small car/sports vehicle which does have a powered top and see how it's rigged up. Then, get to work!!

How would this ever work since you have to a) Pop open the "trunk", b) raise the top, c) lift up the rear of the top to d) carefully close the trunk, and then e) snap in the rear retaining pins. It's a neat idea, but it seems tough to make it work. I love power tops, but they usually have a different style of mechanism than this car. If you do figure it out, though ... Let me know. It would be nice!

tough doesnt mean impossible. I can reach behind and lift the rear bow and pull down the lid. I dont have the strength to pull the top up and over while sitting in the driver seat.
I would just want a worm mechanism to lift the top.
