I'm a C! guy thinking about buying a '68 "project" for this winter. Do '68's have a ton of one year parts like '63 did ? Wanting to make a good driver rather than a show car but i don't want to get bogged down searching for the needle in the haystack. Any really BAD things about '68's as opposed to slightly later models. (I have owned a '71 and a '73 in the past). Thanks, Bob
Wow........that just makes me want to cry. So sorry for your loss.
Thank you. I have yet to see the car in person. It has been in the shop and was taped off by investigators. It is now out of the garage and I need to pick it up. I really don't have a place for it.
It is heartbreaking. I hope it will make someone a good project. Clear title and all. It is quite a loss both financially and emotionally.
68s had lots of unique one year only parts when they came out of the factory, but a project car probably won't have many one year unique parts left on it so you really don't need to worry about them.
The 68`S don't have all that useless bling GM used trying to justify yearly modifications.....they got it right in 68 and didn`t need that 69 and later crap......But I`m sort of glad they did add that junk because mine is a 68 and also not a 'stingray' either.......

all that useless bling, like no angle braces in the frame,no front light header bar support brackets,no front nose steel rod support, no clutch safety switch, small front spindles, and small rear driveshaft yokes, just to name a few.
