Default Moisture in exhaust

Do any of you guys still drill a hole in the lowest point of your mufflers to let the water drain? How about in the lowest part of the exhaust (most likely the section going under the spring)?

I see water leaking from the bottom most joint of 2 pipe sections. Should I not worry and just clamp a little tighter? These ARE stainless steel afterall....

If you drive only very short distances and the system does not get hot enough to turn the water to vapor then a drain hole might be needed. Although with stainless steel, if good stainless, not the variety that a magnet will stick to. I wouldn't think it would matter much for the pipes, but the muffler probably is not stainless.

its a pretty common trick in areas with high humidity and cold like alaska, not really needed with stainless, for awhile we used to see mufflers with a small weep hole at the bottom of the rear flange.

Thanks. The mufflers are indeed stainless as well. And one thing you brought up that I did not consider is yes, so far Ive been just running the motor for a few minutes in the driveway and it results in water, I bet driving it longer distance will evaporate it.

Drive the car for 10 minutes or more and you won't have any water in the exhaust system.
