Default carb number and date question??

i bought a re-manufactured rochester today....was SURPRISED to find these numbers on it 7029207 1717 69' 350/350 but the julian date confuses me....67? were they still building service replacements in 77? oh, and it has a sticker on it from re-man....a number like an inspector number and what looks like a date 03-76 has this puppy been in this box since then? thanks, Rick

Hey Razman,

They actually produced this carburetor through the 1980s for NHRA. If it's an 1980's carburetor, it typically has a leader "0", such as 07029207. So you are correct that this one is probably a service replacement from 1977.

If you ever do get looking for an original 7029207 DA, the stop solenoid will be the key identifier.

Original on right, replacement on left. Notice the triangular bracket to the right of the fuel inlet?

thanks Pete...the numbers on this one are 7029207 (no zero leader) but also no DA...i'm sure it's probably a service replacement. thanks for the pics, are you talking about the triangular shaped "block" on the body of the carb...to the right of the fuel inlet in pic...LH side of carb??? Rick

Sorry, RIGHT hand side of the carburetor. I'll refrain from posting until after my cup of coffee!

I see that 'triangular' bulge in the casting that has what
looks like one small lead shot in it.
This is the right side of the left carb.
