Default door seals

I looked at alot of threads about weatherstripping and Wilcox's how to's as well. Maybe I should have gone with CRC brand but bought Metro way back when I had the $ to buy all the parts for rebuild, anyway . . . got the driver's side on and glued but getting the door closed is pretty much not going to happen, so I pulled it all off, cleaned it up and I'm ready to start again. I saw a post that said slam it shut and let it sit but the door is out a good 1/4" from quarter panel and I won't do that. Any hope that these weather strips will fit? The latch pin is, of course, all the way to the exterior side and still I can only get the first detent to latch and hold the door closed.

I had a real problem with the pillar extensions (the drain like gutter) on my 71 hitting the upper door corner weather stripping and not closing. Any chance of a photo?

Are the Metros latex rubber or the harder stuff? Factory weatherstripping was latex rubber.

Default fixed

Metro is a soft sponge seal, complex moldings are glued to the extrusions. I don't really know what fixed this but the end molding at the front of door that is at the base of A pillar when door is closed
may have been mispositioned. Redrilled mounting holes for this part and reset the door seal with making tape holding it in place, closed the door and viola!
