My 78 starts pretty good when the motor is cold, after driving it for a while and shutting it off if I try to start it again right away it starts right up.. The problem is that after it sets about 30 minutes or longer it is very hard to get it started.. The motor turns over fine and once it does try to run I have to rev it up a few times or it wont idle.. after I rev it up a few times it will idle fine.. I have tried not giving it any gas when I turn the key and have tried giving it some gas when I turn the key.. Anyone have any sugestions ? Thanks
When hot, the automatic choke should be fully open. Before you start it when it is hot, take the air cleaner lid off and see if it is. Maybe it is shutting, either partially or fully closed.

Thanks, I will take a look at that , i guess if thats what it is there is a way to adjust the choke so that it stays open when the motor is hot ..
