I have been searching the internet for hours now and I can't seem to find a place to purchase a Corvette Assembly Manual and download it immediately. All I can find is places that ship either paper manuals or CDs. Does anyone know of a website that offers an immediate download of assembly manuals? As I stated, I am willing to pay for this service. Thanks
The Corvette aftermarket vendors all sell them. I don't know anyone who ever got a FREE download of an AIM...
I don't think Sunset was suggesting a FREE one, simply a downloadable one rather than a CD or print version. I'd like to know if there's a downloadable version myself, I've just seen the print or CD versions.
AIMs are copyrighted material. A free download would be illegal. Pay the bucks and purchase one.

Thanks for having my back TUDZ. I found one online yesterday and when I got up from my chair to get my credit card the computer timed out and for some reason the data wasn't saved in my history file. That's why I spent so much time looking; because I had already found it. I just went ahead and ordered a paper copy this morning.
I have my copy. I could send it to you and you could copy it, but you gotta send it back and pay shipping both ways. It might be less costly just to buy it, but thought I'd offer...
All that I can say is that we all should be very thankful that Mid America managed to get the AIM copies, so that we can restore our cars correctly. I purchased my 68 copy in the end of 1989, I think. GM might have destroyed them. Lou.
Sunset, I don't know of any vendor that offers the AIM as a downloaded file. You are correct, paper or CD only. In the business world every document I work with is digital and easy to search and navigate. But I prefer the printed AIM when I'm in the garage wrenching - won't get my iPad greasy and dirty that way.

I was tossing up between the paper and CD version. I prefer paper, but I've heard some people say that the CD version has clearer diagrams.
I made the PDF manuals with the embedded text for finding the pages faster... but the files are huge... (the ones other vendors carry). Some people like paper... me included.
Advantages to PDF:
You can zoom in and in most cases the pages are more clear.
I can print the pages I need as I need them, and don't have to worry about tearing one up.
The embedded key words allow for faster searching.
IMHO,
Willcox

Thanks greatly for the offer but I've already ordered a paper copy as well as a service manual, shop manual and restoration guide to help me restore my 78 Pace car.
yes Luddites will poo poo the digital version however I find searching it MUCH faster. I will print what I need and take it out to the car for work.
Get both, like its been said they both have a place.
I keep a digital copy on my Ipad and when I get an idea to work on something I call it up and check things out.
Nobody has asked this question and I'm in the market for an AIM manual myself. Can't you take the CD version and simply PRINT the entire book and create an EXACT copy of the printed version? I mean to the tee? I realize I'd be printing several hundred pages, but I'd only do it once. If so, I do that then take my printed pages to Staples and have them not punch the pages to bind them, but put the entire book in a spiral. MUCH stronger than a 3 ring binder page anyway. Cost about 2 dollars.

Probably not at home on your home printer. Hard copy AIM pages are duplex printed, meaning a front and a back to each page. Most home use printers are not duplex print capable.
You could possibly take your CD to Kinkos etc. and have the duplex printing done there, along with the hole punching/binding you want.
Or you could order the old stand by hard copy AIM with binder. It gets delivered to your door and saves you running all over town to Kinkos.

Wow, how old is your printer, my printer cost $100 and got it 4 years ago and it does duplex Even printers that don't, as long as they suck in more than 1 page at a time, you can just print odd pages, take the stack out, flip it over, then print the even pages (though I've printed many a document upside down before buying the dedicated duplex printer ).
Though yeah, printing it at a shop would be cheaper... though I think you'll find many shops won't (or shouldn't!) print it for you because it would be copyrighted.
Easiest solution is just to buy the printed one from a vendor, it's really not all that expensive if you compare it to the time you'll waste printing it yourself and the money you'll spend on paper and ink to do it.
