I'm restoring a 68 coupe. I feel that the metal at the bottom is rusted beyond repair. Are all C3 coupe doors the same? Would convertible doors work as well? Or do I need doors from a 68? I'm located in Redding, CA... anybody near hear have a couple of non-rusted doors?

They are special to 68 as the push button makes it that way. And I'm not sure on the convertibles but I believe they are a bit different also.
Hi 13,
The 68 has a one year only door because of the outside lock push-button recess.
A 68 door will work on either a coupe or convertible.
Regards,
Alan

Had to replace both doors on my 68 because of rust...drivers side came from a convertible, pass side from a coupe. The door and latch/window mechanisms are the same, the glass is different as stated in the posts above
Give Corvette Dave in Tracy a call 209-833-3630, there's a chance he may have what you're after
Interested in seeing some pics of this 68 you're working on
It's a pretty scary project! I've documented it with photos pretty well. I should start a thread with the progress, because I too love the rebuild threads people start. But in the meantime, here's a couple pics since you're curious
When I bought it there were 3 or 4 pallets of parts. The PO had a shop tear it apart and then couldn't afford the restoration and collected everything from them.
The rolling chasis is done and now it's bodywork time. It's a numbers matching 68 coupe with the 327/TH400, PS, PB, PW and AC. Thanks for the interest. Jason
Good luck with the build! My 68 which was restored by the PO, used 69 doors. He told me it allowed more room for the Z06 seats, but I think it was easier to find 69 donor parts. Since it's modded, and I'm driving it as often as I can, I'm not concerned about it - not close to original.
When I got my 68 it was already disassembled as well....trailered it home from Michigan(long story but it helps explain the rusty doors) in boxes and started a restoration that took me the better part of five years to complete. Doesn't seem like it's ever really done though, 'cause I'm always workin' on it
