Picked up my 69 a few months ago. Will be continuing the restoration so I thought I would post a few pic before I start. Already replaced trailer arms, new universals, pulled rear and replaced pinion seal. New spring and struts. Purchased sidepipes at Carlisle from Paragon. They had a set still in the box $2,000. Sold. Also picked up red line tire from Coker for $750. A good day at Carilsle. Saved on freight and cash talks. Will keep the forum posted with new pic. Just wanted to tell my story. Oh, 350/300 with 90k miles and bored 30 over. runs good and has many orig. parts including mtr. http://s1362.photobucket.com/user/ta...how/69%20vette
Hi rvz,
It looks like you have a very nice 69 to be putting your efforts into!
I'll certainly be following what you post about your progress.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
Yes JimE code is C which my understanding is OCT of 68. It is an early one. Will be dropping the gas tank. I already know the build sheet is up their. I will see how clear it is, keep you posted
Paint was done a few years back. The original color was silver and it is pretty good, enough to get started on other things
Just a thought:
I've recently learned that a wet-sanding with the correct grit paper/properly dried/followed by a clearcoat can really revive even a 15 year old/faded/nasty/kept outdoor black paint job while the big bucks are being used to get the car mechanically correct/interior spruced-up. Each part that I remove gets the wet-sand after it is repaired/clearcoated at the next opportunity before it gets re-installed (You get fast at setting up the spraygun/cleaning it afterwards by the second part that you "repaint")...it's not the best procedure--it adds an extra hour to re-installing each part, but the car will be mostly "repainted" by the time it's mechanically & interior ready.

Great looking '69. Similar color combo to my Siverstone Silver/Gunmetal '68. Only you are starting from a much better position than I did. Mine was a basket project. Good luck!
