Default Modified 1975 with 454

I'm new to Corvette's and I'm looking at buying a 1975 T-top Corvette that has been modified with a 454. The whole car has been extensively reworked, including the suspension, brakes, transmission (auto), rear axle ratio is 4.11, etc. He has all the receipts and has owned the car for several years. I would probably change the rear ratio as I'm looking for more of a fun cruiser than a hotrod. What's the downside of the 454? Thanks.

Hi Murf,
Depending on how well all the "rework" was done.... maybe nothing!
Regards,
Alan

I realize the gas mileage will not be Prius-like, but that's not why I'm buying it. The parts are all name brand, Edelbrock, Barnett, Vette Brakes, etc. I just want a fun car with some get-up and go.

Well I love my BBC for it's get-up and go.

Would not change a thing and mine is a cruiser.

I haven't bought it yet, as we are still negotiating. If the sale happens, I'll post some.

Thanks for every ones input this appears to be a great forum. Murf

Leave the 4.11 in for a while and see how you like it. It will be a fun cruiser and a hotrod.

With 27 inch tires ,4.11 gearing your turning over 3k rpm's at 60mph.OD trans will cure that...& you'll still have quick take offs with those 4.11 gears..
