Default lines on fender

What are the two lines painted over the fender mean? I am preping my car to repaint and I was thinking about adding these lines to it. I think they look pretty cool.

The hash marks identified the original 1963 Corvette Gran Sports. GM brought them back on the 96 Grand Sports.

I don't know. I was tinking about put them as ghost lines in pearl against my base coat. This would be something you wouldn't see until you almost walk by it, then it catches your eye when the sun is just right.

I like the ghost lines, as long as the rest of your C3 isn't original.

It's not, Inside it is all original with A/C and power everything, outside is original color, but it has a blower motor, sidepipes, and aftermarket wheels. It is setup for car shows and running the interstate not racing.
