Because they are idiots, and this fact proves it! Not worth the time of day! These are the same type of idiots that write Chevy should make a Volt SS

btw, I have nothing against 81s or any vette....Im squarely in the Id rather drive any vette than anything else camp! But putting the 58 on that list is further proof they are idiots!

And what exactly do you have to match up to a 73 there rene? It does'nt seem from your profile that you even own a C3. Would you like to share some details of your car, and why maybe you have such a harsh opinion of the 73?

What classic car guy doesn't like chrome? Near the top of my corvette dream list sits a '58 fuelie.

Guys, don't get your feelings hurt by some goof trying to get attention on the Internet. Online articles' success are judged by "hits" and the best way to get attention is to pick on 10 examples of cars owned by passionate, emotional owners.

Notice he didn't mention any models or issues commonly discussed or criticized among Corvette owners... Just 10 cars almost at random.

According to his logic, I should sell my '58 and go buy, umm, 20 1984s with the money because it's "worse."

His opinion isn't going to enter my thought process. It should'nt affect yours.

The 82 had only one good idea (rear hatch window) .

Other changes that laid a egg were (IMHO)
1. The transmission really lugged.
2. The rims had absolutely no look
3. Paint color was drab (perfect for a duck blind).
4. Interior matched the exterior description.
5. Crossfire injection

Usually the last or the first model year is the one to grab because its either the original or the best of the line. But, not in this case .
The guys at G.M. really could have done a much better job.

They just plain blew it on the Collectors Edition.
I personally feel for the 82`s , its the one to avoid.

OK, had this one coming i guess....

I have an old beat-up rusting '80, in desperate need of a ground-up body-off restoration.

Yes i know. In any "worst Corvette contest" my car would get first prize for "worst performance", "worst road handling", "most Tupperware" "loudest squeeks" "most misaligned body panels" and so on, easy.

But i love it, it is the car i always wanted. Because of styling, i think the '80, '81 and '82 completes the late rubber bumper C3 body style.

But i love any C2, and almost any C3. I adore the '68-'72 chrome bumper C3's, only too expensive for me. And i love the rubber bumper styles of the '74-'82, all of them, even the '74 with the split in her behind.

And there was something in between...

Somehow GM designers decided in '73 that changing only the front to a whole new body style was enough work for one year, and kept the beautiful chrome bumper short rear end of the '72 model. Both styles are completely different and beautiful on their own, but cutting two different cars in half and joining the different styles together just seems not a very good idea.

I dont like 73's from a styling point of view. That is my personal opinion. But reading on this forum how popular and demanded the '73 are by a huge amount of members i am probably one of the few.....

It was not my intention to turn this topic into a "what year is the best" contest because the best Vette is the one each of us has parked in his/hers own garage.

Enjoy yours!

Useless, O/T rant to follow:......

Yep. In the eyes of those who run 'interweb' sites, pages are divided into two separate entities: ' 'Marketing' & 'Content.' The latter serves the former, and in worst cases, merely fills up space. Like commercial TV; the adverts are the reason, shows - the filler. It's all about building audiences, defining demographics, and filling coffers with an increasingly lucrative stream of cash flow.

You have to ask, what demographic is this '10 Worst' piece aimed at? I'd say 'millennials' around the average age of 22. What was going on 22 years ago when these folks were having their diapers changed? Lessee. Will Jeff Clintoon was arriving in office, his sidekick, alGore gearing up to 'reinvent gubmint,' and the 'interweb?' Hadn't really been developed yet. By 2002, when the diaper babies were a decade young, their world view was defined by video games, 'South Park,' and web-rubbish. Hell, they didn't even have smartphones to text on yet.

So, who better to cater to this market than members of the market themselves? I mean, you wouldn't want to hire older people with life experience and broader views to help sell widgets and Hyundais to, right?

Okay. I'll stop here. I'm boring myself and likely everybody else.

Thanks for putting up with me.

I have to say that I do agree with at least one and possibly two of those listed and they
would be the C4 & C5 pace car replica's, especially the C5. They would have to be the
gordiest, most in your face cars ever produced and did nothing, IMO, for the brand of
Corvette that we all love.

HEY ...................Easy there fella.

I work for the local Toyota dealership. Owning a Prius helps me justify owning 190 HP car that gets 12 to 14 miles in the city and burns high octane gas.

But........................I do love that Vette. I just didn't buy it to brag about the mileage.
