Default Power window issues

Hey Everyone,
I just bought a 1977 Corvette with power windows that do not roll down. Does the anti-theft system prevent window controls? I have a key in the fender anti-theft system.

Is the gauges fuse good?

only the temp gauge and the tach do not work. The fuse for the power window has power but no power to the switches. Does the anti theft system tie into the windows circuit? I noticed the harness on ebay mentions the fender key anti theft system in the harness

I believe the '77 has a relay between the fuse-feed and the window switches. Have you checked voltage at the relay? I've been through this recently with my '75.

The "Gauges" fuse feeds both the power window relay and the anti theft circuit but they are seperate and unrelated circuits.

You need two feeds to make the power windows work.

When pushed the power window switch sends low current 12 volts to close the relay, then the relay sends high current 12 volts to the window motors.

Check under the hood for the power window "circuit breaker" and confirm 12 volts on each of the two wires.

Then check to see if the window switch sends power to the relay. If not then check the switches.

Since both windows don't move my guess is a bad relay.

77 schematic here:

Just looked at the schemaic and it shows power to your relay from a pink black wire that is plugged into the IGN cavity in the fuse box, make sure the wire is not loose.

Not certain if the '77 is the same as my '76 but when I bought mine the windows didn't work either. It turned out to be the relay and it's located under the center console up by the radio. Lot of work to get at it and then put it all back but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
