Default Difference between parts

Hey guys,

I am going to replace the handles on my 1980 and spent some time on ecklers and willcox's webpages. I have a question about the difference in some of the products they have listed. I will use Willcox as an example since I have their page up currently, but both have similar variations in their products that i don't understand.

Willcox has the hands for sale separately and as a pair. However, the pair is cheaper than buying just one by itself. Can anyone explain this. Here are the product numbers and links to the pages:

I think this is for the left only. I don't know what "LH" means.
http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...oducts_id=6198
Door Handle Assembly. LH Trim Parts 69-82 $67.44
Part#: 33060

Likewise for the right, "RH".
http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...oducts_id=6199
Door Handle Assembly. RH Trim Parts 69-82 $67.44
Part Number: 33061

Second options for just the left ("LH") I think:
http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...ducts_id=26264
Door Handle Outside LH 69-82 $25.19
part#: x2032
Door Handle Outside 69-82 for gasket use part number G627-29092. Gasket is not included with handle.

Right:
http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...ducts_id=26265
Door Handle Outside RH 69-82 $25.19
part#: x2032
Door Handle Outside 69-82 for gasket use part number G627-29092. Gasket is not included with handle.

Now the pair:
http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...ducts_id=25719
Door Handle Outside With Gaskets Pair 69-82 $44.95
Part#: X2032-3
Door Handle Outside With Gaskets Pair 69-82 Hi quality Imported handles.

Whats with the different prices for the same thing? I know one says assembly and one says handle, but the picture was the same. If you know what is going on, let me know. Otherwise, I will have to try and contact them when they are open next.

Thanks.

The ones you have with part# that start with X is for forum numbers such as yourself. And that's the discount price.

So how does checkout distinguish between non forum members and members?

Quantity is always less expensive than separate purchase price. If they sell them in a pair or package they discount it because it cost them less to package and ship. It is marketing skills that make them money. When you buy more it cost less and they use this than pass it down. I like to buy a package deal if I can when fixing stuff on my Corvette the more parts I can see in the package to fix the total problem I have the better deal I get. They do this in a way so you spend more but get all the parts you need so you do not buy them separately. I like package deals in the kits they offer to fix problems I have. It makes sense to me because I do not always know how to get all the parts I need until I see the packaged product for my parts list.

Yes, I realize that buying in bulk is better than buying part separately, but I have never seen where buy two of something was cheaper than buying just one. With that kind of deal, who would ever buy just one? If you could sell the extra for $5 it would still be a great deal.

Yes, Trim Parts is an American company, making quality reproductions of emblems and other parts in the USA. There are also cheaper, China made reproductions. That is why a pair of the imports are cheaper than the USA made, single part. Lou.
