O.K., so my w/s wipers now work, thanks to a lot of good info on the forum, found a crack in my w/s wiper bay letting water into cockpit. Now I find that when I drive at night my headlights are doing weird things.
With the switch out, and lights up, the 4 lights are on, high or low beam. Also the high beam blue indicator is on with the lights in what appears to be low beam actuation(beams shinning down and right?). Also no lights on in the Tach/Speedo cluster, but all other indicator lights are working (rheostat works on gas/oil/batt./temp lights o.k.).
Clicking to what should be low beam(blue light out), gives 4 beams up, straight ahead.
I am considering changing light switch, or calling and Exorcist.
High/low beam operation is not necessarily the light switch; it's the floor switch under the carpet. Have you checked to ensure the harness is plugged in well at the floor switch?
On my '79, the switch is on the column. Activation seems O.K., execution seems to be the problem. I suspect the light Switch(on/off)since I am also having issues with the Tach/Speedo lights.
I will work down through the wires near the high beam switch on the lower part of the column.
