Default carpet

Okay guys, I have a 74 vette with new carpet but it looks like crap. I don't know where they bought it but it does not fit good at all. So I need some opinions what is betted 80/20 loop or cut pile. Since willcox has a good sale going on I will be ordering some nice things from them. Carpet, door panels, and maybe the rear compartment door set.

I'm just finishing up my interior resto that included carpet from Willcox.Installing complete carpet front/back w/heat/sound deadner took me about 12 hrs total. Lots of small trimming to get it to fit right. The back wheel wells took the most time. Cut pile came w/ deluxe interiors, loop w/standard interior if your going for the original look. Personal preference really.Loop has bigger loops of fabric where as pile looks shorter and kinda like fur.

Loop was standard; cut pile came with the optional deluxe interiors. Choice is yours. Almost all the current carpet available is from Al Knoch or ACC. Willcox can fix you up with either.

I recently redid my carpet....just so happened that it looks decent even though it was mid-range in the pricing category.....loop carpet.

I DID spend a day installing heat reflective/sound insulation (since being a rookie, I read many posts about cabin heat being a problem).

Then another day with a pair of upholstery scissors fitting/installing the carpet.

I also made sure that the carpet was formed/molded-to-fit (storage area shown)........

(Yes...I did make the pull-straps for the storage compartments from the puppy's leash/paw-print design LOL)

It took about 48 hours for the carpet to "settle in".

What annoys me is that the PO installed the new front carpet on my 74 and the rear needs it badly. Problem is, you can only buy the whole set or the front. Cannot find the rear only anywhere.

I recently finished mine, went through Willcox and used the loop type that they prefer, I did it over the course of time and had good results, key things for me was good razors, good pictures and threads on here, particularly from Alan71 and some other guy, I forget where from but he did a blue interior restoration, had tons of pics step by step...measure twice, cut once for sure
