My '71 turned 43 on Saturday (just like me). I need to buy her something nice ... I think I'll do some online shopping this week. Too bad there is snow on the ground, I'd love to take a spin right about now!
Hi Jay,
Happy Birthday to you and your car! Was your car actually built on your birthday?
As I look back 43 is a good age, actually 40 to 50 is good, pretty much everything still works, and you're about as smart as you're ever going to be!
No picture of the car?
Regards,
Alan
Alan - I was born in Sept. 1970, so I actually wanted a '70 corvette, but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on my '71. I bought it when my son was born back in 2005, but have never owned an 'old' car (nor can I fix anything myself). To date, it has been running great (thanks to NJ forum members Gordon & Brett) ... and it has become my son's favorite toy (his name is even on the license plate)!

Don't look now, but in September 1970 when you were born, the 1971 Corvettes were in production. On top of that, the strike began about September 15, 1970 and put the skids on things until very nearly Thanksgiving. Full production did not resume until December.
I would love to have a chrome bumper c3 built in 1968 but not.possible so I went with tye vette that I could afford unfortunately I didnt realize that if you can afford to buy it then you probly cant afford to fix all that it has wrong with it lol
my ultimate dream car is a 59 corvette they are just gorgeous or 30-40s buick convertible road master
