I have a alum. rad. # GIc3AE8005. I have a S/B 69 and would like some help in determing the breakdown of this part. AIM and books I have don't help. Please help
Hi r,
When I googled that # it lead to a post about a 64 Galaxie with a radiator with that number on it?!?
Are you trying to determine what radiator you have?
Merry Christmas!!!
Regards,
Alan
Hey Alan it looks like in my 69 restore I noticed some bubba work up front. S/B no A/C wrong fan and clutch, wrong radiator. So I have a 5 blade fan, expansion tank and a forum friend sent has allot of 68/69 parts and sent me a pic of an alum. radiator. It has that number and I don't see that in the AIM or other book I have. 64 ford is strange. I thought vettes only had alum. shows you how much I know.
yes a box truck backed into it busting up the nose and cooling system. It was not a moving collision and it did not bother the head lights or any other front end work, no frame damage. Now the old owner took what ever he had laying around to put this thing back together. I would like it be more orig. looking. Hey got the car for under 10k. I hope when its done it will be a nice ride.

That does indeed explain it! Maybe time to give Tom DeWitt a ring?
Hi r,
I agree with the part number Pete listed as the radiator for your small block. The date code, (two digits for the year, and one character for the month), was stamped into the top plate as was the part number. The ink stamp he mentions was the 'inspection stamp'.
The Dewitt aluminum reproduction is VERY nice.
There are also copper replacement radiators for your application too.
You've made me remember why restoring a car 'WELL' can be so costly:
Fan
Fan Clutch
Shroud
Radiator
Harrison Label
Hoses and Clamps
Thermostat
Expansion Tank
Hose and Clamps
Heater Hoses and Clamps
You are right ALAN with your list. Well maybe its time for me to go open presents and enjoy Christmas. Instead of suger plums and presents it more like shroud numbers, expansion tanks etc.
Maybe a bit off topic but I see in the new summit mag they offer a universal aluminum rad for 230 or so. You have to weld the fittings where you want them to go. Thought about looking into this myself
