Hi

Yes, the L71 redlines at 6500, the lower HP versions at 5500.

This is due to the solid lifter on the L71 versus the hydraulic lifters on the other 2 versions, the L68 tripower & L36 with ordinary carb.

427/390 (single carb) has a 5,600 RPM redline. The 427/400 tri power is the same.

427/435 is 6,500 RPM's.

I have a 67 rectangular port 3X2 manifold with carbs. I need to have the carbs rebuilt and restored. The 67 rectangular port 3X2 intake manifold is pretty rare. It has the carbs elevated a little, they won't fit under a 69 L88 hood from what I've been told. `Any comments please?

Hi

I believe it will fit.

I am using a 68 intake , but doubled the height of the air filter and it still fits.

I am using a long style L88 hood, but believe it's height is the same as the original hood.

B4 the tripower, I used a Camaro high rise alu intake and it fit well.
