Just noticed a '68 L36 coupe listed on ebay the other day. 607 original miles. Buy it now @ $119,000. Your thoughts/opinions ()

I think for $119k I'd expect more than 4 pictures.

Nice car but not what I'd call a top shelf car. If the tail pipes are any indication, looks like the items that were replaced weren't done so with originality in mind. Still, a desirable car. Not sure what it's worth. Maybe $40k?

It's a nice early car, say February build. Minor issues. He added more pix. IMHO, not worth 119K but should fetch around 60K.

Two things I was wondering about:
- is the exterior mirror in the correct position on the door and are the front grilles correct for s/n 13002???

Early cars had the outside mirror positioned more forward on the door. The grilles look correct.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought the early model '68s' had grilles like the one shown in the picture on the left with the raised horizontal bars.

This should be relatively easy to document as the ad gives you the estate info where it was purchased. There should be records on what was sold and for how much. Locate the auction house that sold it and request/purchase (?) the info you need.

The present buyer saw a unique opportunity to 'flip' this car for a sizeable profit. Can't blame him/her for asking any amount. The car will only bring so much money. "More" is better for the present owner.

P.S. I believe that only the front surfaces (edges) of those horizontal bars are painted silver; shouldn't be any silver paint on the sides of the plastic slats.

A C3 is still not a C1 or C2....it wouldn't bring $119K even if it had just 10 miles on it. Do these people ever do their research before they put these crazy prices on a car? Watch a car auction show like Mecum on Velocity Channel to see what a C3 will really bring before they try and price a Corvette. This one has some serious issues for a low millage car...rust, and paint and for heavens sake it's out is moister in the snow! Heck I don't even like mine to get rained on Just kidding guys about the water. But that car is not in a dry climate, even if it was garage kept. Just my two cents worth.

Looks like a nice, unmolested 68. I'd love to hear the story on it beyond being part of an estate.

Nice car but not worth six figures.

Bkvette: #13002 may not be "early." It was assembled in March, 1968.

The original owner removed the motor? I wonder why with the low miles. Vac can for wiper door looks like 2nd design. Nice looking car, curious to see what it tops out at.

If it only has 607 miles on it why remove the engine?

Hey, Ian - if we are going to pool our money together, buddy - we should go buy jaxlt1's '68. That is the one to have and would be worth every penny.

Hello Mike - I guess that is why I am raising the question - would #13002 be considered an early or late model. If it is a late model - then the exterior mirror position would make me wonder what else is not correct. From what I can tell from the photos - the grilles are late model examples. Wish there was an interior shot of the gauge assembly bezel (another early and late model difference). Make it a great day, guys. BK3

What VIN number marked the changeover (if known)?
