Thanks guys! After getting some quotes to have it moved I think I have pretty much made you my mind to just pick it up myself. Now I just need to hear back from some of the adds I ran about delivering a car as I go down there.

I think this is the best idea. When I ordered my car trailer I decided to drive down to Fayetville, Ga to pick it up. Left Rhode Island on a Thursday morning was back in RI late Saturday night. Total cost was about $700 fuel, food and lodging for 2 nights. Tow vehicle was Dodge 2500 diesel. Enjoy.

Phil,

Get on uship.com and you can probably find a load to haul down south. It is basically like ebay to bring shippers and customers together through their bidding process. I have used it twice successfully. Give it a shot.

Thanks guys....I didn't realize/never considered uship for trying to find a load.....only posted mine there. I will investigate it some....who knows, maybe can start myself a part time job

I did move a GMC van over 400 miles for a friend a couple months ago....and I know the vette will be less weight. The truck is a dodge 2500 cummins so shoudn't be a problem.

I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks again,
Phil

No problem at all. Mine is an 04 2500 Dodge with Cummins Diesel and pulls my 26 foot enclosed trailer with my vette and 800 pound bike.

I wish I would have gotten one, caught me by surprise but still got a good enough look to enjoy the view for a few brief (too brief), seconds

I have used Exotic Car Transport (several times), Passport Transport, Long's Specialized Transport, and Sho-Tyme Enterprises and never had an issue. Show-Tyme is a single car hauler based out of Dahlonega, GA which might be in your vicinity.

Plus, your C3 turns into a C5 when it comes out of the truck!

…DFW traffic sucks. I didn't have brake issues on my '72, but I did have overheating issues. You probably saved yourself a lot of headache.
