Hi ftf,
Interesting question.... my thought is that other Chevrolet jacks were all 'bumper' jacks in 71 since the cars still had steel bumpers.
Maybe????

Alan

Alan Corvairs used a jack that was very close to the Corvette one. but all other cars used a bumper jack.

Alan,
Your posts are confusing. You seem to have some proper letter writing format, yet break so many rules of said format. That's not very NCRS of you.
Ive been in your spot a couple times- let me offer a suggestion: sell the dated '73 jack (150-200) and then go buy the correct date jack you want.
MUCH easier.
(post your jack in the Parts For Sale section)

Good advice. I will work towards that. However there are still a lot of odd colored, correctly dated jacks that came from somewhere and mine doesn't have a production code to trace. I'm just sayin'.
Thanks All
Fred
Don't know how serious you want to take this jack hunt but don't forget that the handle needs to be correct also. ie. 71 jack handles had 3 elongated holes in the handle whereas starting in 76 they were not. This ad is incorrect for 76-82 but look at the 4th pic.

Hi,
Another detail to pay attention to is the shape of the handle's end at the prong used to pry off the hub cap on a car with hub caps. (If that matters to you.)

Original (71): It has one round hole and 2 elongated holes?
