The stuff is bitchin' but do where gloves when using it as it will seriously mess up your skin. Pulls all of the oils out or some such.

I like that purple stuff from ZEP, it not only does a good job of de-greasing you car parts, it works great on the wife's pots and pans!

I have used it on 3 cars that were basically frame off to remove rust...works great for that as well as greasy parts...just use full strength with a small wire brush....really helps remove the rust...again...like everyone says...will burn your hands if you get it on them...especially if you have a cut.

I have noted it removing some light rust, didn't want to mention it cuz I thought it was just me. Didn't work on really heavy stuff, but was great on light serface oxidation on suspension and steering parts. Also really cleans that baked on ugliness on internal engine stuff. For really bad stuff I use carb dip, rinse, and the then the Purple Power. Sometime will attack aluminum, so be aware.

Only thing I have found that was better was called Come Clean by Castrol Industrial. Nasty stuff, FDA and EPA compliant. Will heavily discolor paint and attack aluminum, but removes the worst grease, tar, varnishes, and oils. Dip piston/rod assemblies in it and they come out looking like new rods with white satin pistons. I <think> Castrol Super Clean is a diluted version. Purple Power was in my experience better than the Super Clean.

Forgot about the safety glasses, but I usually wear those for everything I work on, at home and at work, anyways, so slipped my mind.

I talked to Paul the other day. He is just getting back on his feet after a knee surgery.
We definitely want to set up a Solvang cruise

But there will be many cruises to plan still!
New engine, I gonna want to drive her!
