At one point there was some discussion about having a reoccurring / regular car clinic type get together, but that was all it was, just a discussion.

Any thoughts on this??
This may be good opportunity to put one together, which is why I mentioned Conrad, Jeff may be up to it as well. I'm in, my vette is all dialed now

I think a clinic would be awesome!!! I'm heading to the city planners office here in Moreno Valley to see what are my options to build a 2 car garage/workshop on the back part of my property. I'm planning on putting a lift in it so the height might be an issue. We will see.

As for a cruise, I was looking at planning a cruise to Paso Robles and do some wine tasting. I used to own a wine shop for 5 years so I do know my stuff about wines. My certificate says Sommelier but my wife calls me a drunk.
It would be fun to make the drive in late may. This is what I was thinking about. Leave Friday Morning around 7:00 am, stop in Santa Barbara for lunch, finish the drive up the 101 to Paso. Hit 2 Wineries and then go to the hotel to check in. We would Stay in a hotel in Down Town Paso, walking distance to other tasting bars and restaurants. On Saturday after breakfast, cruise many of the back roads to hit 5 wineries in the area and I would set up some private tastings at a few of them. After a fun day of cruising and Tasting (Not Drinking) we would hit down town paso do do some Drinking!! On Sunday, meet for breakfast again and then hit a couple more wineries then head back to SO CAL.

I would be having my friend drive my truck and pull my enclosed trailer with everything that we would need in case of a break down and also to carry any other bags or wine home from the trip.

Just a thought

I'm thinking that Paul has plans to cruise to Solvang in either April or May and the California Stingrays may have plans to cruise to San Luis Obispo around that same time, and I'm going back East in June.

A trip to Paso Robles would make a great, late summer trip. It can be advertised on the California Stingrays web-site and Facebook page.

Thanks for the offer. I live in Chino Hills, not too far from you. I'm still undecided if I'm just going to do a valve job, cam and rear main on my 71, or pull the engine and put another 454/468/496 back in it. Someone that knows what the are doing would really be nice. Can you pm me a phone number. If not I will just contact you through the forum.

Thanks,

Ken

Sounds like some fun. Whatever you would like to do... I'll give a hand. Rear main seal you can get to without pulling the motor but the tranny would have to come out. If you need to re seal up your motor then I would recommend pulling it and change all the seals and gaskets. My # 909-856-twentysix-twentyfive.

Have you guys been to the weekly Saturday meet Coffee and Cars in Irvine? That may be an excuse for us to drive our cars and meet up then have breakfast.

I would love to do that. If anyone has any dates please let me know.

I will look into setting up something in late aug or sept for a paso trip.

I've been there many times and have always enjoyed it. Lots of different cars and there are always plenty of vettes around to look at. However, you have to get there by 6:15 in the morning or you can forget about finding a decent spot. Most people start leaving around 9:00 AM. I would be interested in going as a group. perhaps we can meet some place near and drive in together. Anyone else interested?

Our designated local California Stingray club fearless leader, Imariver - the pillow case man, may have a tentative date for the San Luis Obispo cruise. Perhaps his wonderful wife, Ms. R. will allow him to share it with us. In the meantime, how about a quick Saturday cruise to Irvine's Cars N' Coffee in early February, as 80Corvette suggested?

Hey Jeff,

Good to hear from you. You definitely have been busy, looks great! Now hurry up and finish it so we can start cruising again. Everyone's getting a little restless and pushing for a short cruise, let's make it happen.

I haven't yet but a friend of mine did last year and said it was great. I'm in for it this year. Saturday March 22 there is a fairly large car show in Chino at the city hall. Also every Sunday at 7am we have 2 different meeting places. Manna Donuts at Riverside Dr and East End and the other at Farmer Boys Central Ave and Schaefer. Usually a few Corvettes. I try to go the these maybe once a month. They are real close for me.

I'm not familiar with these but I'd be interested in checking them out. How do you guys feel about taking a drive to Santa Barbara next Saturday morning? We can take advantage of our California winter, have lunch by the beach, take a little break and head back before sunset. If interested, let's start a roll call list.

MrJlr,

I plan on doing the exact thing you are doing here. I'm keeping the original matching numbered engine, but a 195 hp Corvette just doesn't seem right.
Keep us posted on the progress!

I sure will
I am storing my numbers matching L48 and going with a BluePrint engines 383 stroker alum heads & roller cam. Good price as I'm on a budget ($3700).

I plan on documenting the whole thing start to finish and a follow up on how the engine performs.

Stay tuned!
