Ive had my vette for about a year and its a decent driver quality car. Its a steel cities gray 4sp a/c car. Ive rechromed the rear bumpers replaced the tag bezel and mirrors. Its a 25fter for sure. It currently has a good running 350 . I actually picked up a roller 350 today and decided id get a build thread started to track my progress. Plan is to get the motor in, Upgrade the suspension, then go through the interior. Im also restoring a 55 chevy and its the priority, so I want to continue improving the vette all along while keeping driveable. I actually got the new motor off craigslist. Its a rebuilt short block with mahley pistons that came with new aluminum heads, new zz409 cam, torkerII intake, holley 750 dp, moroso pan. I think itll be a good set up. The old motor will be clean up and put in the 55. Ill get some pictures up soon and I look forward to learning from the guys on here. Jim
Quick Update. I mocked the motor up and wasnt satisfied. I was already not a fan of the torker II but it was free and I was going to use it. After mocking it up it just didn't look right and I wanted an excuse to get something that would perform better. Black Powder Coated RPM Air Gap is on the way.
I've got some parts back on the 55, so now that my shop isnt a wreck, I may go ahead and pull the Motor so I can spend some time detailing the engine compartment.
Even with the engine out, it will take you some time to get the engine compartment detailed. There are about 10+ colors of paint required, if you don't want bare metal left to tarnish/rust. Clean all the wiring, paint the compartment walls and all of the stuff in there. Be prepared for a big job. But, if you don't do it...and you install that great looking 'mill'...you're not going to be happy, either.
