Will the taillights from my 78 fit in an 81 bumper cover or do I have to get ones for 81?

you need to get a catalog from one of the vendors, they help determine what will fit what years. Most are free. go on line to order one from zip or corvette america etc. or just go on line and check. do some research before asking questions.

It's just one simple question that I thought someone would have firsthand knowledge of. Evidently you don't so why even respond?

I put the 81 rear rear bumper cover on my 78 vette, yes they will fit, but i had to make some spacers that go between the bumper cover and the tail light mount, there was a gap.

Who makes your 81 bumper cover? Contact the manufacturer. They usually specify which tail lights you have to use with their cover.

you have the bumper, and you probably have the lights, so put them in the bumper and see if they fit.
