Okay I am going to try and find Bens 64 vette. Can some one living on long island get there hands on a Nassau county phone book. Its a long shot but maybe his best friend might have some info. I need his phone #. Name is Charles VanWinkle in Syosset, Please help
Might also want to post the inquiry in the C-2 section of the forum. You never know who will respond with a lead or heck, she might even be a forum member.
Okay heres what I have so far. Thanks to jaybird and brasspass I have some phone numbers . Now Charles VanWinkle was Ben;s partner. I know there not in bus. any longer. I have Charles address, his number listed was no longer in service. Still would like to see if he is listed in the Nassau county phone book at Spruce la. Better news is I now know Ben died in 1973 and either his wife or daughter live in Lynbrook. A Nassau phone book would be real handy right now. Maybe Charleywould have some pics but hell if I could find his car I would make a road trip without thinking. Thank you everybody for helping. We will find it. Oh Brasspass a great idea to also post in C2 general area. Already got a post from someone living in the next town over. Didn't remember the car but he was a little bit past our prime. (1973 he was 19).
I pulled out my year book and blew the dust off. Boy now that's an interesting read. I have some leads and will be making some phone calls to see if I can visit with some friends when I get back from my vacation in the islands.
I want to thank everyone for there help and interest. I will pickup on this adventure back to the past when I get back. Hope to get some pics of a few of the cars that were truly muscle cars of the day. BYE
If you can talk to the daughter you could tell her that car is worth well into the hundreds of dollars if it is in perfect shape, maybe less if not. Mention you would't be in it for "Full on retail" because you have to have some meat on the bone after transport to your shop and putting money into it to get it in better condition.
