This is where I had my car installing the new 700r4 transmission.
I was work today when I got a phone call about 9 o'clock this morning.
I was told I needed to get to my car. And then I was told the shop was on fire. Thats where im allowed to work on it. When I arrived this is what I found.
This is the shop before the fire about 6 months ago.
This is it on fire.
And here's my car. We pushed it to where its at now. It was back by the building about 3 foot from the side of it.
This is the damage to it.
The windows leak a little bit so I had a blue tarp covering it. And it melted.
My car can be fixed. The people that own the shop lost a great deal of stuff. Thank God no one was hurt.
WOW! From the looks of your pictures, the only real body damage is the melted rear fender. Besides the tarp melt, the body looks to be ok. Hope the rest of the damage doesn't go past any of the visible paint damage. Thank god/luck/response time you were able to get the car out of oblivions's way.

The damage to my car was done before the fire department showed up. They did a great job keeping water on my car and keeping it cool until I showed up.
And three of them help me push it out of the way. They didn't know it didn't have a drive shaft in it and you can just push it.They were a great bunch of guys.
I simply cant believe we are not looking a melted pile Corvette. The Corvette Gods were looking out for your car bro. That is VERY fixable! What started the fire?

Reason: spelling brainfart
Any damage to your Corvette isn't good, but considering "what could have been", you faired well.
I feel for whoever the owner of the shop is.
Fires suck!
That reminds me of my paranoid thoughts when my cars are in mid restoration and I couldn't at least roll them out of a garage in time of need. Had that happen to a friends Vette. His garage started on fire and all he could do is watch it burn because it was on stands with no suspension under it. I always try to keep them movable as much as I can for that very reason.
Wife say's I think more about the Vettes than I would her in a crisis situation. Had to ponder that thought for a nano-second. Still got hit.
Fires are the worst! Just imagine your home burning down and losing everything you own including your family history in photos, heirlooms, cars, etc...
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
