Default Distributer Help Please

I have gotten everything set up on the distributor except the two wires going from the wiring harness to the distributor. The wires are a tan and a orange and will plug up ether way so I'm not sure which wire goes to which side.

Thanks

Orange should be the ignition wire and tan should be the tach wire.

Unless it's changed, your tach should be mechanical.
On my 73, the two wires from the harness go on the + coil post.
The wire from the coil - post should go on the distributor.
Mine is a black wire from starter and cloth braided one from
ignition switch.

The fact that the OP said "plug up" led me to think it was HEI because points style distributors don't have plugs.
