Default Seat Frames - Worth Saving?

We pulled covers and foam off our 73 seat frames. Frames are in rough condition, parts of it are rusted all the way through.

Are these worth saving or just scrap metal?

I might have a set I'll sell if you need them. Will first need to pull covers off them so see what shape they are in. Been stored in my shed since I took them out of my 73 about 2 years ago

They look to be in ruff shape.. I would put in my scrap pile. That's just me. I would pull off any part that is in good shape..

Pretty bad shape. I wouldn't attempt to repair. Re-cycle (scrap) them.

After looking at how much it was going to cost to replace the cracked fiberglass seat backs, the chrome hinging and several other rather pricey items I felt I'd still have ended up with a seat that lacks anything resembling comfort, from today's standards anyway. I chose to upgrade to C4 seats. Picked up a pair for 100 bucks. New foam and covers. Used my 74 seat slides and made a few brackets to convert them. Now that I've sat in them, I'm glad I made the switch. 10x the comfort, and that is no exaggeration.

I just finished the seats in my 73 last night! Mine weren't quite that bad and I was able to make a few small repairs and reused them. Very little of the frames are visible and can be repaired pretty easily, but, I think since you have spares then go ahead and use the best ones you have. Recovering these things is enough of a task; you dont want to regret not using a better base!
