Saw vintage advertisement the other day for either a 69 or 70 vette, and I noticed the lap belts were left attached to the shoulder belt instead of using the front seat clip to hold the belt. Anyone do this on a regular basis? I wasn't sure if this would make the shoulder belt mechanism wear out over time.
Also, I'm in the middle of removing my belts for restoration... Just the shoulder belts are left .... Anything to be aware of before prying off the plastic trim over the mechanism? They are in good shape and I don't want to bust em up
That's the only way that makes any sense! Leaving the lap belts dangling on the floor is unsightly. Just unclip the 'tandem' belt and let the shoulder retractor pull it up to the top of the seat.
