Welcome to the forum!

My mother and uncle were raised in York. I have spent many a summer in the area and even got engaged in front of Nubble! Too bad the marriage didnt last as long as the lighthouse!

Hello thanks for the warm welcome from everyone!
Now I guess I will go into a little more detail on this car...
I have been looking for a while for a Vette more for a c2 body than the c3 even though I like them both equally I would have preferred 72 down. When I say this car on Craig's list in Massachusetts it looked pretty nice and the price of 4500 seemed like a steal.
Well I got it home and started having buyers remorse, you see a lot of things didn't seem to add up. I didn't have a lot of time to comfortably check out the car like I usually do it was cold I could only meet the seller at certain times and it all did seem kind of sketchy but I bought it anyways. The car did only have 76,000 on it the vin numbers checked with the engine, it did not appear that the car was beat on, the tires are all good with even wear and the exhaust was new. The engine sounded real good with no smoke and the last time it was inspected was 2010.
The things that didn't add up to me was the interior why would anybody put 78 up door panels on a 76 and loose the classic look inside, change out for a 78 column or so I thought from the horn button saying 25th anniversary edition, and the seats from the same year.
I have since learned from the Forum that the column is a 77 because it is a one year only with the wipers on the directional stalk.
So I do things backwards some times so I called the registry to check on my new purchase and get any information that I can....well things just got better. They informed me that it is a one family owned car. The car was passed down to the seller with only 69,000 on it in 1989 by his grandmother. How rare is that!

Welcome to the forum. What part of Maine is that. I spend a lot of weekends in Leeds near Auburn. Will be my summer residence in a few years.

cool that's a nice area too. Let me know when you come up we can cruise sometime. I travel to Ma. too see my family down there.
I have a 71 Cheyenne Super with a 496 that I cruised a lot the last few years but the BBC is killing my wallet. But it is cool when some punk cruises up next to you and races his motor and an old man in a 43 year old truck dusts him. lol not the right forum but Ill take a chance.....at least its still a GM
